UP Health Systems Portage implements new change to visitor policy

Inpatient units are allowing visitors again after a roughly two week pause. The change comes with heavy restrictions, though. Only one person is allowed per patient between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Anyone in isolation due to COVID-19, or suspected of having the virus, cannot have guests. The Emergency Department is also off-limits at this time. Only in the case of a minor will an exemption be made for a single parent or guardian.

UP Health Systems – Portage has not provided a reason for the loosening of restrictions. The most recent census data shows that there is only one COVID patient currently at the hospital. That individual is not in the intensive care unit.
