Coming up right after the turn of the calendar, Michigan Tech University plays host to the 2023 U.S. Cross Country Ski National Championships. And with many skiers and hobbyists living in the area, the Keweenaw Peninsula will make a spectacular back drop for the competition. The university is asking the local community for help showing off the region’s love for cross country skiing. Volunteers helping put on the 2023 CCSA championships will help distribute race bibs, with course control, and even forerunning. Because the Cross Country Ski national championship is a large event, there is also a pre-national’s invite taking place this weekend. The race this weekend is also in need of volunteers for both Saturday and Sunday. I f you are interested in volunteering for finding out more about each competition, visit mtu.edu to find links to volunteer registration, and event details. The U.S. Cross Country Ski National Championship’s main event will take place January 2nd through the 7th.
