Main Street Calumet expects up to 350 kids to take part in the annual Trunk-or-Treat event this Saturday. All day fun is planned with pumpkin carving starting at noon at the Keweenaw Heritage Center. A scavenger hunt will take participants around the village. When your card is completed, drop it back off at the Main Street Calumet tent near the theatre to be in the running for prizes.
As the sun begins to set and the Halloween feel intensifies, out comes the candy. Cars will line the green next to the Calumet Theatre on Sixth Street, trunks popped open and offering a variety of sweet treats from 4:00 to 7:00. Inside on the stage, kids will have an opportunity to try their hand at various carnival games.
The day is capped off with a lighting of all the jack-o’-lanterns on the steps of the Keweenaw Heritage Center for a devilishly slick Halloween display glowing into the night.
