Trunk or Treat in Calumet creates memories for families

There’s just one week until Halloween. But there are plenty of chances for kids to find some sweet treats. Calumet hosts the village’s Trunk or Treat event on Saturday. The event includes music, costumes, candy, and plenty of fun for families. Main Street Calumet Director Leah Polzien says that Halloween creates special memories for more than 500 kids that attend trunk or treat.

And seeing those children downtown, it does bring you back, I think, to your own childhood and just make you really remember what a fun day and what a fun, fun thing it is to one, get a whole bunch of candy, but to just see all the other people dressed up and it’s, it’s great. – Leah Polzien, Director, Main Street Calumet

Calumet will shut down the 100 through 500 blocks on 5th street for trunk or treating. Pumpkin carving will start at 1 pm at the MBK Notions Building. While kids can start trick or treat on 5th Street after 2 pm. Families or people interested in participating in Trunk or Treat can register online, or contact Main Street Calumet with any questions.
