UPDATE: Traffic Resumes on US- 41 Between Baraga and L’Anse for Train Switch Issue

UPDATE: It has been reported that the lane reduction has cleared on US – 41 from earlier this morning.

An issue with a train between L’Anse and Baraga is causing alternating traffic lanes on US 41. Michigan Department of Transportation reported a notice that traffic lanes are alternating between north and south bound vehicles on US -41 near L’Anse Avenue. The Baraga County sheriff reports that a technician from Escanaba is on the way, however a three hour delay is expected until the issue is resolved. Baraga County Sheriff suggests avoiding the section of highway for the time being, as there are no other alternative routes nearby. MDOT posted the traffic notice beginning at 10am.
