The pack arrived in town last night. Today Tour da Yoop, Eh! takes off for its fifth leg, traveling around the Keweenaw Peninsula, up to Copper Harbor and back. Today’s trek of 117 miles is just one stage of a 1200-mile journey to raise awareness for bike safety and raise funds for Lions Childhood Cancer. During its past seven years, the annual biking event has developed an important relationship with the Lions Childhood Cancer program and works with families in the region in need of assistance. In Houghton County, the group works with nine families with a child who has cancer. In 2024 Tour da Yoop Eh! seeks to raise 149,000 dollars for the families in the Upper Peninsula. While traveling today please watch for the Tour da Yoop bike riders and keep a safe distance on the roadway. Those interested in donating to the 2024 Tour da Yoop Eh! The campaign can find more details here.
