The Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region seeks the public’s input for the Torch Lake Township recreation plan.
Like many communities in the region, Torch Lake has begun working toward developing its five year recreation plan, which helps determine project and development priorities for recreational opportunities offered to area residents. Recreation plans for municipalities not only help leaders determine resident needs and desires, but also helps township gain access to grant funding from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
An online version of the recreation survey has been made available online. Additionally paper copies of the survey are found at WUPPRDR’s Hancock office and the Torch Lake Township office. All Torch Lake recreation plan surveys must be submitted by October 15th.
