Around the country on Thanksgiving millions of Americans will wake up early to take off a few extra calories before dinner time. Turkey trots are found around the country, getting communities up and out the door for a little exercise on Thanksgiving. And just like those other cities, a turkey trot will take place near UPHS Portage in Hancock.
“And what we’ve done the last couple of years with the shirts is we just hand them out randomly. So before we used to do where it was so many registered get shirts. But it seems to be a little more fun to just be able to hand them out randomly.” – Angela Luskin, Community Health Coordinator, UPHS – Portage
Registration for the turkey trot is open online. Those deciding at the last minute to join the fun can register on the day of the event. Those registering same day should arrive a few minutes before the turkey trot fun run begins at 9 am. Participants in the turkey trot should meet at the hospital’s main lobby.
