The Calumet Theater is gearing up for a packed fall schedule. This weekend the theater will bring in entertainer and songwriter, Tim Lorsch, for his newest performance, the Suitcase. Lorsch is the son of Jewish immigrants who escaped the tragedy coming to Europe, in world war two. Lorsch, while in the midst of working received a curious gift. A suitcase. For weeks it remained un-opened, until one day, Lorsch felt compelled to discover what was inside. The suitcase, from the Czech Republic, previously had been owned by his uncle. His uncle was not as fortunate, as his parents.
The Suitcase follows the Jewish and immigrant experience traveling to the united states. Tickets for the suitcase can be purchased online, or at the Calumet Theater box office. Students 17 and under who pay at the box office, can get into the show for just a dollar. The student discount is only available at the box office. Regular tickets start at 15 dollars. World War II veterans can attend the show for free. The Suitcase starts at 7:30 pm on Saturday in the Calumet Theater. A pre-show party is available an hour before show time.
