Fulmer

MLB
The Detroit Tigers dropped a 3-2 decision to the Tampa Bay Rays Saturday. Michael Fulmer allowed just one run through six innings, but tired in the seventh, gave up two more, and took the loss. Miguel Cabrera homered for Detroit.

The Tigers host the Rays again this afternoon. Buck Farmer will start against Jacob Faria. Pregame coverage will begin at 12:45 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Detroit designated hitter Victor Martinez has been released from the hospital. He was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat after leaving Thursday’s game because of dizziness. Martinez is on the 10-day disabled list, and doctors will monitor his condition.

Drake

The San Diego Padres scored twice in the top of the 11th, and defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 7-5 Saturday. Chase d’Arnoud’s homer off Oliver Drake was the game-winner. The Padres appeared to have ended the contest in the top of the 10th,  when Yangervis Solarte broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run blast off Carlos Torres. Keon Broxton re-tied the game with a two-run shot in the bottom of the 10th. Orlando Arcia and Eric Thames also homered for Milwaukee. Arcia’s was the first inside-the-park home run for the Crew since 2012.

The Brewers host the San Diego Padres again this afternoon. Jimmy Nelson will pitch against Luis Perdomo.
