Youth in the Keweenaw have a drive to take on leadership roles at an early age. And there are plenty of great ways for young people to get involved in the local community. One group that engages youth with philanthropy, leadership, community service, and work to address the needs of local youth including the Keweenaw Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Council.
YAC gets local kids and young people involved in opportunities to volunteer and serve the community. Tomorrow the group will hold a holiday celebration and open meeting for youth interested in learning more about the youth advisory council. During the celebration, youth can make holiday cards, enjoy the holiday season, and meet other youth from the region. The meeting will take place at the Keweenaw Community Foundation Hancock office, beginning at noon.
