The Western Upper Peninsula Farm-to-School program offers kitchen upgrade grants worth $750

The Western Upper Peninsula Farm to School program announces a new grant award to upgrade work spaces for school food service directors. This week the Western Upper Peninsula Farm to School program announced it will seek grant applications for awards worth up to 750 dollars, that will support upgrades in school kitchen facilities, and enable staff to more easily process and prepare locally grown ingredients.

Examples of the farm-to-school program may include minor renovations, purchasing tools and equipment, or support staff training for food preparation. The Western Upper Peninsula farm-to-school program will continue to accept grant applications until February 15th. Those with questions should contact Rachel Pressley with the Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development region. Find more information about the grant program here.
