Drivers should expect a single-lane closure next week on the Portage Lake lift bridge. The Michigan Department of Transportation will continue work on its 4.3 million dollar investment into the bridge’s infrastructure starting next Tuesday, January 2nd. Crews will close the northbound outside lane during daytime hours. The lane closure will last until Friday, January 5th. The northbound sidewalk will remain closed. Pedestrians should continue to use the southbound sidewalk.
