The National Forest Service limits the Ontonagon Ranger District Office hours for the foreseeable future

The Ottawa National Forest Ontonagon Ranger District Office will only open on Wednesdays for the foreseeable future. The US national forest will limit the Ontonagon district office of the Ottawa National Forest to Wednesday mornings between 8am and noon. The Ottawa National Forest has been unable to hire an Office receptionist to provide public service at the location due to agency hiring restrictions. The office will open starting today.

Other Ottawa National forest has five other offices located around the forest range. Office hours at those locations generally operate between 8am and 4 pm Monday through Friday.

The Ontonagon Ranger District Office serves the Ottawa National forest covering portions of southern Houghton county and eastern Ontonagon county. The district includes features like the Courtney Lake Campground, Bob Lake Campground, O Kun de Kun Falls hiking trails, and Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness area.

The Ontonagon Ranger District office is located at 1209 Rockland Road in Ontonagon.
