The Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra Won’t be Quiet

The Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra is ready to start their season of entertaining the community. Next Saturday on the 15th, the orchestra will perform the Michigan premiere of Unquiet Earth, composed by Upper Peninsula Native and MIT composer, Elena Ruehr. Unquiet Earth is described as filling an atmosphere that explores the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Ether, with a sense of hope and concern for the planet. Alongside the premiere of Unquiet Earth, will be the world premiere of William Herschel’s Symphony Number 20. An eighteenth century musical gem, that has been updated by Michigan Tech Physics Professor, Bryan Suits. And to bookend the performance from the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra, includes the programs the Blue Danube Waltzes and Romanian Rhapsody Number one. MIT Composer Elena Ruehr will be in attendance for a pre-show question and answer. The performance will be followed by a post show reception in the Rozsa Center lobby. Tickets are 19 dollars for adults and five dollars for kids.
