Summer days in the Copper Country are fantastic for meeting new people, and picking up some fresh local produce. But when temperatures begin to drop, and the snow starts flying, it’s difficult to host a farmer’s market. Tomorrow From the Ground Farmer’s Market Collective will start the group’s cool season farmers market, to give local artisans, and food producers a space to continue meeting with the communities in the Keweenaw peninsula. Throughout the summer the From the Ground farmer markets in the region accept various food assistance programs from customers picking up groceries from local farmers. The group plans to continue that practice into the cool season farmers market. Such as SNAP and EBT, WIC, Senior Project Fresh, and more.
The Form the Ground Cool Season farmers markets will take place each Saturday. And are located in Calumet at the Calumet Drill Shop. The cool season farmers market will operate on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm.
