The Copper Country has many talented artists. Some even start from a young age. Recently the Copper Country Community Arts Center opened the Northern Woods Youth Art Exhibition. The exhibit features artwork from local youth. The CCCAC asked youth to create artwork capturing their favorite outdoor places or things in the Upper Peninsula.
In total, the arts center received more than 100 pieces from youth in the region. The Copper Country Community Arts Center recognizes young artists and art teachers who encouraged participating in the program and will feature works from students at Jeffers High School, Houghton Elementary, Barkell Elementary, Hancock Public Schools, and Calumet High School. The Northern Woods Youth Art exhibit will remain on display at the Copper Country Community Arts Center through November. The Copper Country Community Arts Center is located at 126 Quincy Street in Hancock and the exhibit is open for viewing from 11 am to 6 pm Tuesday through Friday.
