Plenty of fun was had over the weekend throughout the Copper Country. Heikinpaiva gatherers started Saturday off filling the Tori Markets. Many local vendors offered unique items and goods for those who stopped in at the Finnish American Heritage Center and Hancock First United Methodist Church. Outside families and friends ran around Quincy Green having fun on kick sleds, and sledding on the hill ahead of the parade. Big Louie and the other Finnish Folk characters made their way down Quincy Street joined by local leaders and groups as a part of the parade. The entertainment then turned to the Wife Carrying Contest, Polar Plunge, and more family fun on the green. Later in the evening the community came together for dinner and dancing at the Finnish American Heritage Center. Find some photos from the parade and games below.
