College Soccer
The Tech soccer team blanked Northern Michigan 2-0 yesterday. Grace Shaw and Stephanie Yeager each found the net in the second half.
The Finlandia women’s soccer team lost 2-0 to Wisconsin Lutheran yesterday.
The Finlandia men’s soccer team plays at Northland College this evening.

The Detroit Tigers scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning, and closed their season with a 5-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox yesterday. Daz Cameron homered. Robbie Grossman stole a base, and became only the seventh Tiger in history to record 20 home runs and 20 steals in a season. The Tigers conclude their campaign with a record of 77-85, in third place in the American League Central Division.
The Milwaukee Brewers fell 10-3 to the Los Angeles Dodgers to wrap up their regular season.
The Brewers are champions of the National League Central Division, and open the playoffs at home against the Atlanta Braves Friday.

The Detroit Red Wings lost 5-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exhibition play yesterday. Pius Suter scored Detroit’s only goal.

The Detroit Lions’ late comeback fell short, as they lost to the Chicago Bears 24-14 yesterday. Jared Goff threw for 299 yards, with two touchdown passes to Kalif Raymond.
Aaron Rodgers tossed two touchdown passes to Randall Cobb as the Green Bay Packers downed the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-17 yesterday.
In last night’s contest, Nick Folk’s 56-yard field goal attempt in the final minute bounced off the left upright no good, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hung on to edge the New England Patriots 19-17.
