SUV stolen in Laurium

UPDATE TO STOLEN VEHICLE IN LAURIUM; A GMC Acadia that was stolen yesterday in the Village of Laurium, has been recovered by the police. Laurium Police Department says that the case is still under investigation.

The Laurium Police Department is asking you to be on the lookout for a stolen GMC Acadia. No model year was given. The sport utility vehicle has a front license plate that says “BOOTJACK.” The rear plate is DHX 117. Chief Robert Kyllonen says the Acadia is described as being in “pretty good shape.”

The SUV was taken from Dave’s Auto Services at 730 Lake Linden Avenue. Kyllonen reports that the keys were left in the vehicle and accessible to any passerby. It was stolen sometime between 5 PM Tuesday, July 27th, and noon on Wednesday.
