Suspect Arrested For Allegedly Selling Crystal Meth in Baraga County

A Baraga County man is under arrest for allegedly selling crystal meth.  Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence on M-38 in Baraga County.  The 35-year-old suspect was taken into custody at the residence.  There were two young children in the home at the time and were immediately turned over to relatives.

During a search of the residence detectives seized a small amount of crystal meth, evidence of drug distribution and $2,580 in cash.

The suspect was currently on parole and was lodged at the Baraga County Jail for a parole violation. Additional charges for drug distribution are expected pending a review from the Baraga County prosecutor.

Detectives from UPSET were assisted by officers from the Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police, Michigan State Police Calumet Post, Baraga County Sheriff’s Department, L’Anse Police Department, and the Michigan State Police Calumet Post K-9 Unit.
