Copper Shores Meals on Wheels will receive a 2,300-dollar grant from the Subaru Share the Love 2023 event. Subaru Share the Love will support the Meals on Wheels program for a second year by providing a 2,346.73 donation. Since 2008 the Japanese automaker has donated more than 30 million dollars to Meals on Wheels programs throughout the United States. Copper Shores Meals on Wheels Program Director Kathleen Harter says that the funds will support the program’s ability to deliver warm meals by purchasing new meal transport bags and repairing existing delivery equipment. Through Meals on Wheels programs, seniors can more easily fight challenges with nutrition, food insecurity, and feelings of isolation and loneliness with meals delivered by residents.
