The holiday hoopla will start Thursday evening. But the copper country has already gotten a sneak peek at auction items supporting Career and Technical Education scholarships. Last Friday the Holiday Hoopla Silent Auction officially opened. The auction includes several items donated by local businesses to the event’s fundraiser. It also includes hand-crafted items made by CCISD CTE students.
We’ve also, in probably the last five or six years or so, as the ISD has ramped up its CTE program, we’ve been able to get quite several items that they have created, they’ve built, as well as from the local high schools with their CTE program. So it’s been tremendous and it’s been very helpful for us. – Jeff Radcliffe, Executive Director, Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance
Holiday Hoopla with the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance, Copper Shores Community Health Foundation, Keweenaw Young Professionals, and the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce will start at 6 pm on Thursday. The 10th annual holiday hoopla will cost 35 dollars per individual. All proceeds raised through the silent auction and ticket sales support the Career and Technical Education scholarship for CCISD graduates seeking certifications in several fields. Those interested in learning more about the CCISD CTE scholarships and the Holiday hoopla on Thursday at the Bonfire in Houghton can find more details here.
