The Strawberry Festival will be as sweet as ever in Chassell in just one month. The event is back and being conducted with only minor COVID-related changes. Both the fish dinners and strawberry shortcake are being served in to-go containers. Visitors will then have the opportunity to eat outdoors.
The 73rd Copper Country Strawberry Festival runs July 9th and 10th. Friday features the fish boil at 4 PM, followed by the judging of the strawberries, the children’s parade, and the queen’s coronation. Saturday will have live music in the early afternoon, an all-day craft show, and Michigan Tech will be on hand to teach kids about their Great Lakes research.
The Chassell Heritage Center is open for extended hours to provide some educational lessons of its own.
