Construction on the H-STEM complex at Michigan Tech is still on track to have the building open in early 2024. Recent weather has delayed concrete pouring. The facility’s wall framing, and electrical rough-in work continues, as well as the structural fireproofing that will start after the concrete is poured this week. Most of the miscellaneous steel inside the building has finished, and crews have complete stairs leading to each level. Over the next few months drywall will be hung, as will the renovations for the section of the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Building attached to developing H-STEM Complex. Michigan Tech anticipates more crews of workers will begin to appear on campus over the coming months, especially as construction season comes closer. The university asks students and visitors to use caution and pay attention when walking around the construction site. Check out the progress the university has made on the complex since announcing the addition last year, with a live construction webcam, found on Michigan tech’s website.
