UPDATE–Suspect’s name released in Mass City stabbing–23 year old Marcus Bain of Watersmeet is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, assault with a dangerous weapon, and police officer-assaulting, resisting, and obstructing. He will be back in court February 11

A suspect is in custody following a stabbing incident Monday. The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were dispatched to the Meritt’s Travel Center in Mass City around 5:47pm.
A 23-year-old Watersmeet man was arrested for Domestic Violence, Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Resist & Obstruction. He is housed at the Ontonagon County Jail without bond awaiting arraignment at 98th District Court in Ontonagon.
The victim was the suspect’s father, who was not seriously injured. No further details have been released at this time. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
