The Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force (UPHTTF) has joined efforts with Angel Studios to bring the movie, “Sound of Freedom”, to local theaters as part of an initiative to bring 2 million people into theaters to remember the 2 million children who are trafficked each year.
The movie portrays a CIA Federal agent, Tim Ballard, portrayed by Jim Caviezel, who rescues a young boy from human traffickers. He learns the boy’s younger sister is still captive, and quits his job to embark on a dangerous journey to save the girl from sex slavery in South America.
Tim Ballard founded the Operation Underground Railroad to continue his mission. The UPHTTF is a close partner to the OUR .
The Thomas Group is offering a special ticket price of just $5, but the movie is only in theaters starting today until Sunday. The movie will give the public insight into the harsh realities of human trafficking, and what kind of work the UPHTTF contributes to.
