Soil Boring work near the Agate Bridge starts next week

MI TRALE warns ORV riders of soil boring work taking place near Agate Bridge next week. MI TRALE announced last week that soil boring will take place on each side of the Agate Bridge on the SB ORV Trail between November 4th and 5th. The work is a part of the bridge reconstruction project that will finish in 2026. A contractor should complete borings while allowing single-lane traffic on the trail. Signage has been posted for both directors of the Agate Bridge.

Soil borings involve drilling holes in the ground to collect soil samples. The process is a typical step in construction that requires added infrastructure such as a bridge, and allows engineers more easily understand the soil composition.
