UP Health System – Portage is expanding its community events back towards normal, including the Sisu Shuffle 5k this Saturday. Angela Luskin says that preregistration is a requirement this year, and more information can be found here. Luskin says that fun is the name of the game. Whether you are walking or running, pets and kids will be able to take part as well.
There will be staged starts between 9 AM and 10 AM. The event begins just outside the hospital lobby in Hancock. There will be no charge to participate and two lucky racers will go home with a brand new bike, one adult and one kid’s version.
Masks are not required during the run, but are expected to be worn until you start the race. Social distancing guidelines will also be in effect. UP Health System – Portage utilized a staggered start in another famous event earlier this year, The Great Bear Chase Nordic ski race.
