The entrepreneurial spirit thrives in regions where people have to rely on their communities to solve a problem.
PEAK25, a conference co-hosted by SISU at NMU and Innovate Marquette, recently announced a new partnership with the NMU College of Business to host a virtual pitch competition for all high school and college students in the Upper Peninsula. The Mini Pitch competition for the region’s students will offer them the opportunity to participate in public speaking, entrepreneurial pitching, and business strategies without the added pressure of presenting on stage in front of a large audience.
Students will create a video up to three minutes in length, to briefly explain the student’s product service or idea. Students will not need to present a formal business plan and are judged on originality and creativity. PEAK25’s applications will remain open until January 16th. Videos can be submitted online. The final eight students selected for the mini-pitch reception will attend a ceremony on January 30th to find out the peak 25 mini-pitch winner.
