Baraga County Sheriff Joseph Brogan gives support to the 109th District Republic and candidate Burt Mason. Mason announced his intent to run for the 109th house seat as a republican candidate in November. Yesterday Sheriff Brogan gave his official endorsement of Mason, believing he will be a strong voice in Lansing. Mason retired from a career in Business Development with Hurco, Sony, and Hexagon. Currently, he sits on the board of directors for the Baraga Chamber of Commerce and Baraga County Memorial Hospital. Mason says he also chairs two 501c3 organizations, the Friends of the Huron Mountains and the Huron Island Lighthouse Preservation Association. Mason will run for the 109th Michigan House district as a Republican candidate. The 109th house district now includes Baraga County after Michigan’s house redistricting was approved in 2021.
