Shakespeare’s stories are full of tragic, comedic, and snarky women. And what happens when you get Lady Macbeth, Cordilia, Juliet, Desdemona, Ophelia, and frenemies together in the afterlife? They might trade remarks, play some board games, sew, and speak with a therapist. The Houghton High School Drama Club will take to the stage in the high school auditorium and perform Thomas Hitchak’s Ladies, Sigh No More.
“It’s a good show. I think that people will enjoy it. It’s a low level comedy, it’s not big yuck, throw your head back in laughter. But their insults and things, kinda go back and forth.” – David Criwley, Houghton High School Drama Club Director
There will be three shows this weekend, starting tonight. The curtains will be pulled back at 7 pm for the drama club’s show tonight and tomorrow. The final show on Sunday will start at 2 pm. There theater goers will find all of Shakespeare’s heroines searching for a way to change the outcome of their deaths. But first, they need to find a way to get along with each other. Purchase tickets at the door, tickets are $7.00 for adults, and $5.00 for students and seniors.
