Schultz Family Foundation gifts one million dollars to Northern Michigan University to support student success

Northern Michigan University receives a 1 million dollar gift from the Schultz Family Foundation. Former Starbucks CEO and university alum Howard Schultz and his wife Sheri Kersch Schultz announced the Schultz Family Foundation will gift 1 million dollars to the university in support of first-generation students and university athletics to promote student-athlete success.

Howard Schultz was a first-generation college student himself, while enrolled at the university and playing on the football team. Adding he hopes to see more students prioritize their goals and inspire the next generation to achieve success while taking care of their communities.
