Rozsa Center Introduces New Payment Program to Increase Access to Performances and the Arts

Michigan Tech University’s Rozsa Center events will be much easier to gain access to now, with performing arts department planning to implement a new payment program. After last year’s successful trial run of the program, the Rozsa Center will introduce a Pay As You’re Able Ticketing for the upcoming performance season, including all Presenting Series events.

When we tested our Pay As You’re Able ticket model. With the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra show last year. And we look at what people were paying in years past, there really wasn’t too much of a difference. Some people did choose to pay a lower than face value for their ticket. And other were able to pay a little more for their experience. And it all kind of balanced out.” – Mary Jennings, Director, Rozsa Center

The program will help increase accessibility to the theater’s shows, musical concerts, by allowing patrons to pay what they can afford for tickets, dependent on their circumstances. Michigan Tech Visual and reforming Arts Department believes the program will help local residents and visitors feel less intimidated by the price of admission to enjoy world class entertainment. Pay As You’re Able Ticket pricing will begin on August 15th for the Rozsa Center’s diverse ballot of entertainment schedule for the upcoming performance season.
