U.S. Representative Jack Bergman proposes a bill that would save the Kingsford Processing facility. This week Representative Bergman and Representative Nikki Budzinski from Illinois introduced the Protect the Postal Performance Act. The bi-partisan legislation would halt the U.S. Postal Services consolidation plans for processing and distribution centers located in underperforming postal districts. Bergman states that residents of his district rely on postal services for timely delivery of bills, payments prescriptions, and other necessities. Adding that the USPS has no business in reducing services for areas that are already short-staffed. Budzinski and Bergman’s sponsored legislation was referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability for further consideration.
