Even though the snow blankets the ground again, it won’t keep the Copper Country’s runners from staying active.
UPHS – Portage announces that registration has opened for the 2024 Sis Shuffle. The five-kilometer run and walking event promotes the community getting outside early this spring to enjoy the change in season and to stay active. The event doesn’t require extra training like for other races in the summer or the mentality to compete against the runner just ahead of you. All UPHS Portage asks is that you bring a positive outlook and drive to finish the race. Sisu Shuffle is open to the entire Copper Country and all skill sets.
The route will take runners and walkers from Portage Drive west along Ingot Street to the Hancock/Calumet Trail. Continuing to Tomasi Road and loop around, finishing at the hospital. Families with strollers are welcome to join the shuffle, and dogs on leashes are allowed. Organizers ask that participants leave their bikes at home for safety reasons.
