A local school district may have had data accessed after a software management company was recently exposed to a cybersecurity attack.
Yesterday the Houghton Portage Township School district informed parents the software management company PowerSchool, the district uses for its student information system, discovered hackers accessed highly sensitive data related to school districts in late December.
The company has begun an investigation into the attack and affirms its commitment to providing necessary support.
