With so many children’s programs, the Portage Lake District Library serves many families in the Keweenaw Peninsula. As a central spot for families in the Copper Country, the library has offered space for the CCISD Parent Café to co-host an event. On August 15th the CCISD Parent café will gather parents together at the Portage Lake District Library’s community room, for the Be Safe Families Parent Café. The evening’s program educates parents on the Five Strengthening Families Protective Factors; Resilience, relationships, Knowledge, Support, and Communication. The Café is sponsored by the Project Aware grant program. Food and childcare during the parent café will be provided to participants. Those interested in learning more about the Be Safe Families Parent Café on August 15th at the Portage Lake District Library can find more details below.
