From future pros to high school athletics and amateur teams in the area, there’s always a hockey game to catch in the Keweenaw Peninsula. But one game no one will want to miss, we’ll raise funds for charity and put one of the biggest rivalries out on the ice.
“Both teams are going out there to win, so you know some of the guys on fire and they know some of us, so you know your buddy’s going into it. But… towards the end, it kind of gets a little chippy and you know not too friendly so we’ll see how it goes this year but last year was a pretty good game we ended up winning.” – Jett Heinonen, Patrol Officer, Houghton City Police Department
Pigs-n-Heat will also include some fun activities raffle drawings and more around the MacInnes Ice Arena for when the action is away from the ice. Pigs-n-Heat on Friday will start at 7 p.m. with the doors opening at 6. Tickets for the game cost 5 dollars or one dollar for those 17 and under. Regular admission tickets are a part of one raffle during the night. Other prize drawing will require additional ticket purchases. Find more information here.
