Plaidurday fall fun starts at the Houghton High School football field

Happy Plaidurday to the Copper Country! Visit Keweenaw and the city of Houghton have a fun fall weekend set to start at 12:30 pm today. Visit Keweenaw and gather the community for a plaid day photo at Houghton High School’s Alumni Field. The picture will be taken at 1 pm, visit Keweenaw organizers and ask those planning to attend to arrive close to 12:30 so they can set everyone in place.

After the Copper Country leaves the football field, some may enjoy a drink at Brew Street with Visit Keweenaw starting at 5 pm. Two hours into Brew Street the Carnegie Museum Director Elise Nelson and Visit Keweenaw’s Jesse Wierderhold will begin a historical presentation about the history of Houghton’s Lakeshore development and Brew Street’s history in the city.

When families wake up tomorrow, many will head down to the Houghton Waterfront pier for the start of the third annual fall fest. The occasion has many fun games, and activities for friends and families including pumpkin carving hay rides, coffee, cider, and pumpkin bowling. Those interested in learning more about fall activities this weekend in the Houghton and the Copper Country can find more information below.
