It’s finally Friday. And finally, it’s Plaidurday in the Upper Peninsula. While the plaid holiday has a lot of fans around the region, not many places can bring together 925 people for a single photo. Visit Keweenaw snapped the photo for this year’s Plaidurday fun at the Houghton High School Amuni Field this afternoon.
“So our estimated unofficial final count was 925 participants in this year’s Keweenaw Plaidurday celebration. And based on what we understand, we believe we beat out Ironwood and Marquette in the Upper Peninsula by a healthy margin.” – Brad Barnett, Executive Director, Visit Keweenaw.
Plaidurday has become a special regional holiday for residents and visitors alike. Those interested in learning more about Houghton’s Lake Shore development can join Brew Street for the history presentation at 7 pm during the beer garden event. Those interested in extending their fun fall activities into tomorrow can check out several great events in the Copper Country. Including Fall Fest in Houghton, Pancakes with the Hancock Fire Department, leaf viewing with the Nature Conservancy, and much more. Find more information about fall activities at visitkeweenaw.com.
