Roughly 50 logos were submitted to be considered for this year’s Parade of Nations. The quality was so high that the committee was able to adopt a design for the 2021 event and a permanent logo.
Dollar Bay sixth grader Emma Riita Moilanen’s submission features a globe saying hello in dozens of languages to portray this year’s theme, “The world is calling.” She wins a $200 award for her logo being selected.
Moilanen says, “I picked this design so I could show diversity using the different languages of the world. I am excited to see it used for the parade.”
The UK’s Andre Cole will have his logo be adopted on a permanent basis by the committee. It is a colorful work, with a globe consisting of various flags as its centerpiece. Cole says, “There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.”
Cole’s logo is below.
