Over 4500lbs of Trash Collected In Copper Harbor

The 3rd annual cleanup in Copper Harbor hosted by KORC was a smashing success.

Over 75 volunteers attended the event.

Together they collected over 4,500 pounds of trash from areas like High Rock Bay, Keystone Bay, Schlatter Lake, Fish Cove, Hunter’s Point, Brockway Mountain Drive, Copper Harbor streets, and motorized trails.

There are several county roadsides, parks, and parking areas had more new trash, and there is still the presence of several legacy dumping sites on public land that still need to be worked on.

Despite this, the beaches and trails are staying cleaner.

KORC wants to extend thanks to all volunteers and local companies who provided the prizes for raffles, and also to the Mariner for providing the food for the cookout.
