A missing women on Ontonagon was found safe early in the morning Thursday. At approximately 9:45 pm Wednesday night, Ontonagon County Sheriff deputies and MSP Wakefield troopers responded to a report of a 79 year old Ontonagon Township woman who had gone missing from her home. The investigation revealed the woman suffers from dementia and left the home carrying her pet cat. After an extensive search, the woman and her cat were both located around 4:30 am Thursday morning. The Ontonagon woman was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital for dehydration and dizziness. She was later released. Assisting on the search were Ontonagon County Sheriff, Michigan DNR officers, Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police K-9 officers, Lac Vieux Desert Tribal Police K-9 officers, and Superior Search and Rescue.
