Ontonagon County Sheriff Responds to Two Accidents Over the Weekend

Ontonagon County sheriff responded to two accidents over the weekend. No injuries were reported in either accident.

On Friday morning at 6:45 a m a vehicle driven by Scott Yanke of Ewen Michigan was raveling on m-28 near cemetery road, when his vehicle was struck by a deer that jumped across the lane from a nearby roadside ditch. Yanke was unable to avoid the collision with the deer, causing minor damage to his vehicle. No air bags were deployed in the accident, and he was able to drive away from the scene.

Later Friday morning, just after 9 am the sheriff responded to a semi truck accident on Rockland road near 7th street. Austin Seppanen of L’Anse was traveling north on Rockland road then the semi truck’s windshield was struck by a rock, causing damage. No air bag was deployed in the accident, and no injuries were reported. Seppanen was later able to drive the vehicle away from the scene.
