Earlier this month Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring. Making planting trees, vegetable gardens, and native flowers out in front of the house an earlier task this year. Starting today the Ontonagon Conservation District will begin accepting orders for its annual spring tree and plant sale. The district offers several selections for residents to choose from including apple, pear, and cherry trees, and balsam fir, cedar, pine, and chestnut trees. The octagon conservation district also has fruit plants available such as blueberry, raspberry, and elderberry plants, as well as gardening plants like roses, lilacs, rhubarb, and asparagus. Orders must be completed by March 28th. Order pick-up has been set for April 27th. Those interested in purchasing plants from the Ontoangon Conservation District as a part of the annual spring tree and plant sale can find more details here.
