One person was injured and another died in an off-road vehicle accident on Sunday in Schoolcraft County. The Michigan State Police Manistique Outpost was dispatched after 8 pm on Sunday for an ATV 4-wheeler crash on Hemlock Trail in Thompson Township. Upon Arrival officers found an ATV overturned after losing control, ejecting both the driver and passenger. The machine rolled over the 33-year-old Chicago male driver causing life-threatening injuries. Life-saving measures were taken on the scene, however, the driver was pronounced dead at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital. The 11-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries in the accident. Both subjects were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Michigan State Police say the incident remains under investigation. MSP Troopers were assisted by Manistique Public Safety and Sault Tribal Police.
