Omega House Invites The Insiders to Keweenaw for the Group’s Largest Fundraising Concert

At the end of the week, Omega House will hold the group’s largest fundraising event to support hospice care for community members in need. Omega House has invited The Insiders to play at the Rozsa Center. The Insiders cover music from rock and roll’s late legend Tom Petty. This weekend isn’t the first time that The Insiders have played a benefit concert though. As the band’s first appearance in public helped support the domestic violence shelter, Safe Haven Ministries.

“For a domestic violence shelter down here called Safe Haven Ministries. SO we did that to honor Tom Petty and his music down here in Grand Rapids. And we raised about five grand for that organization. And that was the genesis of the band. And so we decided to do a couple more shows. And those went extremely well, and we just kept rolling with it. And it’s been almost six years later, and we’re still going and having a great time.” – Max Lockwood, Guitar and Vocals, The Insiders

Sot Omega House’s Executive Director, Tom Lutz is excited to have The Insiders visit the Keweenaw Peninsula. Especially to help support the Omega House’s ability to serve the majority of residents in the area, through the Omega House’s end-of-life care mission.

“The proceeds that re generated here help those folks stay at Omega House. I’ve always said that we base our rates on income. And if you make very little, you pay very little to stay at Omega House. And fundraising is a huge part of what we do.”
– Tom Lutz, Executive Director, Omega House

Tickets for the Omega House benefit concert are 35 dollars each and can be purchased online. The concert will begin at 7 pm on Saturday.
