L’Anse is getting a Christmas tree this year. The village has long been known for its elaborate Christmas decorations, but it’s been several years since the display has included a tree. At last night’s council meeting, village staffers confirmed that a nearly 30-foot high tree will be set up at Waterfront Park, hopefully today or tomorrow. The tree will officially be lit during the Light Up Baraga County celebration on December 11th. That day will also include a visit from Santa, a parade, and Christmas caroling. Individuals and organizations that would like to enter a float or vehicle in the parade can pick up an application at the village hall.
