Before you head to the stores on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, or fire up the laptop for Cyber Monday, consider setting aside a bit of that holiday budget for your favorite nonprofit. Giving Tuesday is scheduled for November 30th, and there are plenty of great organizations in the area that could use your help.
Portage Health Foundation has included 22 different groups in their matching program for this year’s event. They are promising to equal up to $200,000 in donations for causes from recreation to assuring children get a square meal throughout the weekend, away from the school lunch program.
Ahmeek Village Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department Grant Administrator Michael Defina says that the agency took in $25,000 last year. If they can do it again, they will have met their goal to complete the modifications for their new rescue truck.
A special program will air Tuesday afternoon on 97.7 The Wolf. Todd VanDyke will be broadcasting live from the Portage Health Foundation office to highlight all of the programs that can benefit from your donation.
